SOLD - BPHS Super Blood Moon
Updated: Nov 9, 2020
Moon was born on a warm February Blood Moon night in 2016 with no complications.
Moon’s dam is a 16.3hh tobiano warmblood mare EBL Wonce Upon a Time (known as Tikka) who is by What’s Colour (Tom Tom) a 16.2hh homozygous tobiano Dutch Warmblood stallion. What’s Colour is by Samber. Samber, is out of the also famous black tobiano Preferant Dutch mare Tina D and is known worldwide for his tremendous versatility, athletic scope, and extraordinary disposition.
Moon’s sire is Kenlock Superman is a homozygous 16.2hh tobiano Oldenburg stallion by Spectrum who achieved excellent scores for temperament, ride-ability and character. Spectrum is by Rainbow a ZFDP horse imported from Germany who had an impressive score in his 100 day performance test and successfully competed in jumping and dressage. Superman’s dam, Deco’s Favorite is a premium Oldenburg mare who is by Art Deco. Art Deco competed successfully in grand prix dressage and eventing in America.
Moon’s expected maturity height it 15.3-16.2hh gauging this off his parents. His latest unofficial measurement taken 20/06/2020 15hh – research has found some warmbloods keep growing until the age of 6 but we don’t like to provide guarantee’s on mature heights.
Moon is an adorable character who has a very kind, placid nature. He can do the following without issues - tie up, lead, lunge, ruged, girthed, bridle, brushed, washed, wormed, vaccinate/administer needles, trimmed and float. His next step up will be long reining which I’m sure we will be easy-peasy for our Moon. Moon is great with other geldings and mares, doesn’t mind a play but is very gentle with everyone. He is a good dooer on pasture and hay, but loves a lick block and grain, lots of grain if he could!
Moon’s movement would have to most natural and expressional with the ability to make us go “wow” when we spy on him flaunting is stuff. He jumps easily and effetely with great scope in the front end. He learnt his love for jumping when we decided to take on the gate, the gate came off second best luckily and the vet passed him with no injuries just a small lump to the lower chest as a badge of honour courtesy of the broken $80 dollar gate. Moon’s worst habit is going under gate breaks or roped off area with single line. The little bugger ducks his head and off he goes only to find his paddock mates aren’t as rebellious and he is left standing there waiting for you to catch him.
Moon has the right amount of colour, luscious thick mane and tail, placid temperament and explosive effortless movement. This gelding will make his new owner super happy (see what I did there…)
