SOLD - BPHS Gandolf

Tobiano warmblood born in the 2016 October afternoon as healthy and strong foal. Gandolf’s dam is a 16.3hh warmblood mare EBL Rumba who is by Regardez Moi who himself has achieved more than 40 Dressage Grand Prix wins.

* First place Grand Prix Freestyle Grand Final at Equitana for the past three consecutive years.

* First place Grand Prix Freestyle at the 2014 Sydney CDI for a record breaking 6th time.

* Progeny from Regardez Moi are proving to be succesfful in the dressage arena and also in the Eventing arena up to and including 4* level

Gandolf’s sire is 16hh imported German Oldenburg tobiano stallion SOS who is by Semper (Samber & Sandro bloodlines) Semper is the sire of the USA’s very successful dressage sire Sempatico M. SOS’s dam is by Prinz Oldenburg who is arguably ones of Europe’s finest showjumping sires.

SOS himself as a foal was awarded the “Elite-Stallion Candidate” with the Oldenburger Verbrand Germany.

We are lucky enough to also own Gandolf’s older half-sister EBL Witchcraft out of EBL Rumba who has competitively competed in show jumping and eventing coming home with numerous ribbons.

Gandolf’s expected maturity height it 16-16.3hh gauging this off his parents. His latest unofficial measurement taken 20/06/2020 15.3hh – research has found some warmbloods keep growing until the age of 6 but we don’t like to provide guarantee’s on mature heights.

Gandolf is a clever boy who loves attention, always the first to the gate to be caught. He can do the following without issues - tie up, lead, lunge, ruged, girthed, bridle, long reined, brushed, washed, wormed, vaccinate/administer needles. Gandolf has been on a transport truck, straight load float and angle load float, however has started to play up loading but with more training easily overcome.

Gandolf is good on his own or paddocked with mares and geldings but he does like to play! So we often see them having an afternoon race and nimble on the chin, but thankfully it’s never any nasty double barrels. He is also a really good dooer, doesn't need hard feed every day to keep him going just good pasture and hay. Although he would tell you different as he loves his grain, so no issues with appetite.

Gandolf has great paces, he can be lazy but shows he knows when to reserve his tank. You can rev him up to show more expressive motion but he is easily brought back to calm relaxed work. He pops over jumps well, very cautious of his rear legs. A super quiet, relaxed horse with all the right bling!

All in all we believe Gandolf will make someone very happy and will have a successful career in the equestrian events and we look forward to seeing him excel and enjoying life to its fullest.
